AI Fractional CMO — a marketing leader plus the team to do the work
This page shows you how our part-time Chief Marketing Officer service works. You get a senior marketing leader AND the team that actually builds and runs the work. One point of contact. One invoice. Measurable results.
- A business doing between $500,000 and $20 million a year
- A willingness to commit for at least 6 months (marketing compounds)
- An async intake form covering your goals and current stack (we handle the rest)
- Read-only access to your marketing tools
What's inside
1. What this actually means
A normal part-time CMO gives you a senior marketer for 5 to 10 hours a week. They hand you a strategy document. Then you try to execute it with your small team — usually badly.
NWM CMO is different. You get a strategic marketer PLUS our execution team — designers, writers, ad buyers, video editors, workflow engineers. One package. You are not translating strategy into execution. We own the whole chain.
Best for companies doing $500,000 to $20 million a year who don't have a full-time VP of Marketing, or who have a junior marketer who needs a senior leader on top.
2. The 3 packages
CRM + AEO/SEO strategy + monthly content calendar. Self-serve onboarding, async monthly strategy note. The wedge — priced below HubSpot Starter.
Everything in Lite plus paid ads management, monthly async strategy report, email nurture sequences, and attribution dashboard. Ad spend billed at cost + 12% management fee (min $300/mo). Most popular.
Everything in Growth plus AI SDR outbound, Video Factory (12 Reels/mo), weekly async strategy report, and quarterly OKR planning. Ad management fee same as Growth.
3. Month 1: the strategy sprint
Week 1: listen.
Kickoff call (2 hours). We interview 5 to 8 of your stakeholders. We get read access to your data. We tear down your top 3 competitors.
Week 2: diagnose.
Full audit of your brand, channels, customer cost, customer value, holes in your buyer journey, team strengths, and current tools.
Week 3: plan.
Who is your perfect customer. How do we talk to them. What channels we'll bet on. The 90-day plan. How we'll spend the budget.
Week 4: kick off execution.
One-hour readout to your leadership. You approve. Month 2 execution begins.
4. Months 2 to 12: doing the work
Your CMO leads a pod built for your specific needs. A typical Scale pod:
- 1 CMO — strategy, executive reviews, internal alignment
- 1 content strategist — search, blog, email
- 1 designer — ads, one-page sites, brand assets
- 1 paid ads specialist — Meta and Google
- 1 analytics person — dashboards, tracking, CRM cleanup
We work in weekly sprints. Kickoff Monday. Review Friday. You get a shared Slack or Teams channel with the whole pod.
5. Monthly scorecards and quarterly reviews
Monthly scorecard — first business day of each month. A one-page PDF with sales pipeline impact, customer cost, return on ad spend, brand awareness signals, traffic, leads, qualified leads, big wins, big losses, and next month's focus.
Quarterly review — 90-minute executive call with you and your leadership. We present results against the 90-day plan. Reset goals. Adjust budget.
6. Tools we bring
- Customer database — NWM CRM included, or we work inside your HubSpot or Salesforce
- Content — NWM CMS or your existing content tool
- Analytics — Google Analytics 4, Looker Studio dashboards, custom attribution models
- Workflows — the Automations module for anything repeatable
- AI — Claude plus custom agents tuned to your brand voice
Your CMO seat inside NWM CRM
Every engagement comes with direct access to the three modules your executive conversation revolves around:
- Reports — sales pipeline, customer cost, return on ad spend, channel mix in one place. Not in a deck we rebuild every month.
- Forecasting — the CMO models pipeline to revenue with your sales leader, not against them. Quarterly plan lives here.
- Lead Scoring — the CMO tunes the model so marketing ships leads sales actually wants, not a bigger raw number.
7. What results to expect
Honest expectations based on 40+ engagements:
- Months 1 to 3 — strategy done, execution begins. Early wins from new ad creative and email.
- Months 4 to 6 — lead volume grows. 1.5 to 2 times more qualified leads is typical.
- Months 7 to 12 — compounding kicks in. Search traffic up. Ads more efficient. Brand signals rising. 2 to 4 times the sales pipeline. Customer cost down 15 to 30%.
Marketing compounds. If you are not thinking 12 months, do not hire any CMO. Minimum: 6 months.
8. How we hand off when you hire in-house
When you are ready to bring marketing in-house, we help you do it. We help recruit your VP of Marketing. Write the job description. Interview candidates. Overlap for 60 days and hand off everything. No drama. No lock-in.
9. Is this right for you?
Yes if you do $500,000 to $20 million a year, are growing 20% or more, don't have a VP of Marketing, and have a team of 5 to 50.
No if you do under $500,000 (too early — focus on the product), have a strong VP already (we will step on their toes), or move slowly (we move faster than you can approve things).
What success looks like
- Within 30 days: a clear strategy, a 90-day plan, and visible execution beginning.
- Within 6 months: 1.5 to 2 times more qualified leads, measurable lift in at least two channels.
- Within 12 months: 2 to 4 times the sales pipeline, compounding organic traffic, and a cleaner reporting rhythm your executives actually use.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Hiring a CMO before you have product-market fit. If customers aren't buying from word-of-mouth, marketing won't fix it. Fix the product first.
- Expecting a miracle in 90 days. Month 3 is when the compounding starts. Month 12 is when it shows up loud.
- Splitting channels across three agencies. Nobody owns the outcome. One pod, one CMO, one invoice wins.

Common questions
Who is my actual CMO?
You meet them on the sales call. All NWM CMOs have 8+ years in senior marketing and 3+ years as VP or CMO. No junior staff lead engagements.
Can I pause if budget tightens?
Yes. Send a written pause request to hello@netwebmedia.com. We'll discuss downgrading to Lite ($249/mo) to keep CRM + strategy running while you pause execution. No penalties for pausing.
What if I already have an ads agency?
Fine. We work with them. Our CMO coordinates. We only bring the capabilities you are missing.
Do you take equity instead of cash?
Rarely. Case by case. Only for exceptional early-stage opportunities. Default is cash only.
